Even then the invader player has to really be smart and go all out to make the game even. This game suffers from a bit of a balance problem but I have found resources with great hints for the scenarios that help even it out. I've loved the video games since the first episode came out in shareware so long ago.
I picked up this copy used and it was definitely a great purchase.
It's the only system of its kind I've played or seen personally. Combat takes a while (although not that long once you get used to it) but it is intricate and allows for scenarios of the lone space marine holding off against the horde (sometimes). So you can mess with other players timing or mess yourself up with some well or poorly placed orders and 2) the combat. You put your orders out in stacks and they are executed top to bottom. The two parts that stand out for this game for me are 1) the order placement. One of the game designers is working on a new version based on a new IP which I am VERY curious to see.
